In 2009, one of the greatest opportunities of my lifetime was offered for me to lead worship in Israel on a tour with Messianic Journeys and Dr. Michael Rydelnik of Moody Bible Institute.  As I explored the beautiful Land of Israel, following in the footsteps of Jesus and listening to the teachings of Michael, I was overwhelmed by the ministry of Yeshua, and more specifically, His heart for the Jewish people to know Him! 

In the summer of 2010, I returned to the Land with the purpose of spending a couple of months there to study Hebrew and to spend some time among Israelis to get to know them and to learn about life in modern-day Israel. During that time, my heart was broken for the lost, and I began to write a compilation of songs that would enable me to easily share about the love of Yeshua with them, according to their scriptures in the Tenach. 

“Origins” is a project that was birthed out of a love for the Messiah and a desire for the people of Israel to know Him as well as the depth and history of His love for them.  As the prophecies of Messiah are traced through the words of the Prophets, and we see Him through the heart of David’s psalms and the Narrative of redemption, it is clear that the Messiah, Yeshua, has been in pursuit of His people, and all of mankind, since the beginning of time.

John 1:1-5 says: 

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” 

My hope and vision for this project is that the heart of every listener would be touched by the sobering love of God. And that the Holy Spirit would rest upon them and take them into His presence, through the words of scripture, to the Origins of Yeshua the Messiah.
